There are likely many questions you have about the Trials, but we wanted to emphasize a few important points: The health and safety of all athletes, coaches and all others involved in the Trials is of paramount concern to the event organizers.
This will play a critical role in our decision-making process. We are planning for Trials in one single venue, where athletes will vie for the Olympic Team swimming head-to-head in the heats, semifinals and finals.
We are thoroughly evaluating all options related to the number of athletes at the Trials, the qualification period, whether spectators will be permitted and the safety precautions that we will have in place.
Thank you very much for your patience and understanding as we move through this process. Thank you very much. We have been spending a great deal of time working with the Omaha Sports Commission and Visit Omaha on making sure we have the proper amount of hotel rooms reserved in the city. The new date for the Trials in will likely be announced within the next two weeks.
Hotels — As mentioned in the previous point, we are taking particular care in making sure we have a satisfactory number of hotel rooms. Please be patient with us once the dates are announced, as we will have a step-by-step process in place for how your rooms will be cancelled for and the re-booking rooms for Please do not call the Visit Omaha housing hotline until you are properly notified that hotels for are officially open.
Additionally, there will be some hotels that will have more rooms for us in , as well as some hotels with fewer rooms. There are also a few more hotels throughout the city that have been built and will be available in All of the qualifying times from those athletes will be accepted for the Trials in USA Swimming is still working through the details for new Trials qualifiers which will be in place once teams are back in training and competition.
USA Swimming wants to maintain the opportunity to accept new Trials qualifiers, balancing that with ensuring that the meet does not become too large. Tickets — Once the new Olympic Trials dates are announced, those that are seeking a refund for their tickets will be permitted to do so within six months of the announcement.
If ticket holders wish to keep their tickets, they can most certainly do that. The refund process must be initiated using the entity through which the consumer made the purchase.
More details on this will be available once the dates are announced. At this time, we do not have the changes to these procedures fully fleshed out as we are awaiting guidance from FINA and the IOC as well as confirming the dates of the U. As soon as we have this information finalized we will amend and widely circulate the procedures. The amended procedures will be posted at www. Thanks very much, and as always, if you have any questions, please let us know. Thank you very much for your attention to this notice.

With the size of the Trials and the potential length of the preliminary sessions, it is likely that 10 lanes will be used for the preliminary heats from June 21 — June Finals and semifinals, from June 21 — June 28, will only use eight 8 lanes.
The remaining heats of those four events will be swum at the end of their preliminary session, fastest to slowest. The schedule below anticipates that 10 lanes will be used during the preliminaries. If only eight 8 lanes are used, the National Team Managing Director has requested that the fastest six 6 heats be swum during the first preliminary session.
Coach wellness — USA Swimming will be offering several wellness opportunities for coaches and support staff throughout the Trials in Omaha. Some offerings will be held at the competition venue, while others will be offsite. Stay tuned for more information on this as Trials approach.
Sincerely, National Events Staff. As of today, we have 1, athletes qualified for the Trials. We believe this number will grow to about 1, over the next five months.
